Balls Out

Recently I have joined the rugby team. I always try to brush it off when people tell me how hard it is. It isn’t really that bad. I play the position of hooker. Hooker should kind of dirty and obscene, but I’m just the person in the center of the tackle, or ruck. The hooker gets lifted from either side by props. When the ball is rolled into the ruck the hookers then fight for the ball, as people surrounding push inward to help the hookers have advantage over the ball. Hookers cannot touch the ball with their hands, but must “hook” the ball with their feet. When the ball is hooked and then is pressed outward by the persons surrounding, you hear “balls out”. After hearing that I know I can lean back and unlock my body from my fellow teammates and the opposing team.
